Troop 1195

Scouting America Troop 1195B is a unit of the Prince William District of the National Capital Area Council of Scouts. We are chartered by the Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department and meet at the fire station at 11310 Coles Rd. in Manassas, Virginia. Weekly meetings are held on Monday evenings at 7 PM.

We are a youth run troop. To encourage and nurture leadership skills, the adults in the troop supervise, but do not lead the scouts in their advancement in ranks. The scouts are divided into patrols of 6 to 8 boys. For support of new scouts, we have senior scouts and numerous Assistant Scoutmaster's help guide first-year advancements.

In addition to weekly troop meetings, the Troop conducts monthly campouts year round and participate in summer camps, both in-Council at the Goshen Scout Reservation and out.

If you would like more information or if you are interested in visiting or joining the troop, please drop us an email by clicking on "Contact Us" in the Menu section on the left.

2025-26 Membership Renewals

Posted on Dec 25 2025 - 10:33pm

All scout memberships are now completed online by families. Please watch for emails. Most scouts renew in December, but some scouts renew earlier if they joined Scouting within the previous 3 years. Only adult scouters will be renewed by the Troop. If you are having difficulty with the process, please send an email to Mr Dargusch at mdargusch@hotmail.com or text to 571-991-9161. The most common issue has been trying to renew without a payment method chosen or payment method linked.

1/12 MEETING: Bring Incomplete Merit Badge Blue Cards

Posted on Dec 25 2025 - 10:30pm

Please bring incomplete merit badge blue cards to Monday's meeting. In the past, merit badges were only tracked in Scoutbook once completed, or if started at summer camp. In an effort to standardize our process and improve our tracking of incomplete merit badges, we want to record progress. This will help us attach a merit badge counselor to each merit badge for each scout, schedule merit badge days, and reprint lost / damaged blue cards.

Awards for registered adult volunteers (Scouters)

Posted on Dec 3 2025 - 9:59pm

Scouters,

One way that Scouting America recognizes the adult volunteers is through awards. Some awards come in the form of "knot patches" to be worn above the left breast pocket of the adult uniform. There are requirements needed to be completed by the scouter for most of these awards. With regards to adult volunteers, our goal as a troop committee is two-fold:
