Troop 1195

Scouting America Troop 1195B is a unit of the Prince William District of the National Capital Area Council of Scouts. We are chartered by the Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department and meet at the fire station at 11310 Coles Rd. in Manassas, Virginia. Weekly meetings are held on Monday evenings at 7 PM.

We are a youth run troop. To encourage and nurture leadership skills, the adults in the troop supervise, but do not lead the scouts in their advancement in ranks. The scouts are divided into patrols of 6 to 8 boys. For support of new scouts, we have senior scouts and numerous Assistant Scoutmaster's help guide first-year advancements.

In addition to weekly troop meetings, the Troop conducts monthly campouts year round and participate in summer camps, both in-Council at the Goshen Scout Reservation and out.

If you would like more information or if you are interested in visiting or joining the troop, please drop us an email by clicking on "Contact Us" in the Menu section on the left.

Important Troop Updates

Posted on Apr 10 2026 - 10:05pm

Dear Troop-1195 Parents,

At a recent Troop meeting, we spoke with the Scouts about several program expectations and adjustments intended to strengthen safety, engagement, leadership development, and the patrol method. Scouting is designed to be a year‑round, youth‑led program focused on character development, leadership training, citizenship, and personal fitness. Over time, increasing distractions, particularly from cell phones along with inconsistent participation in basic responsibilities have made it more difficult for Scouts to fully benefit from the program. In keeping with the Troop 1195 Code of Conduct, which all Scouts and families agree to uphold, we are reinforcing expectations that support a safe, respectful, and engaging Scouting environment.
