Troop 1195

Boy Scout Troop 1195B is a unit of the Prince William District of the National Capital Area Council of Scouts. We are chartered by the Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department and meet at the fire station at 11310 Coles Rd. in Manassas, Virginia. Weekly meetings are held on Monday evenings at 7 PM.

We are a youth run troop. To encourage and nurture leadership skills, the adults in the troop supervise, but do not lead the scouts in their advancement in ranks. The scouts are divided into patrols of 6 to 8 boys. For support of new scouts, we have senior Boy Scout and numerous Assistant Scoutmaster's help guide first-year advancements.

In addition to weekly troop meetings, the Troop conducts monthly campouts year round and participate in summer camps, both in Council at the Goshen Scout Reservation and out.

If you would like more information or if you are interested in visiting or joining the troop, please drop us an email by clicking on "Contact Us" in the Menu section on the left.

DUE 3/31: Summer Camp 2025 Selections

Posted on Mar 26 2025 - 11:48pm

Parents and Scouts,

Please review the attached "2025 Summer Camp Merit Badge & Activity Matrix" and assemble a list of merit badges and/or other non-merit badge activities your scout would like to do in session schedule order. A best practice is to create multiple lists just in case a chosen merit badge isn't available for the session you chose on your primary list. We suggest choosing merit badges that you CANNOT do here with the troop throughout the year (see the merit badge counselor list on the troop website). The scouts will depart for their first merit badges from the dining hall and finishing at the campsite (TBD), so we also suggest building your scout's day using the attached map and "walking times" chart to reduce unnecessary travel.

DUE NOW: Summer Camp Fees

Posted on Mar 24 2025 - 8:28pm

Early Bird pricing is $435 and is due immediately. The troop has to pay the camp by Thursday night 3/27 to lock-in the lowest pricing. If you or your scout has already registered on the www.bsatroop1195.org calendar event in July, then the troop is going to pay the camp and you will need to reimburse the troop. Anyone registering on the troop website after 3/27 will be subject to higher pricing. To get to the payment options, click on the red "+" next to the name of your scout on the attendance/registration tab at the top of the calendar event.
